Basic Salad Dressing Recipes

Want to know how to make some simple salad dressing's to use at home or for when you run out? Check out these 6 super simple recipes and make dressings even healthier from scratch.

Simply mix all the ingredients from each recipe together and serve on your favorite salad. In most recipes you can substitute any type of oil and can even use honey instead of sugar.  You can also used dried herbs as well as fresh.  I usually use fat free miracle whip instead of mayo to cut down on calories. 

Basic Asian Dressing

2 Tbs Vinegar
1/4 cup oil
2 Tbs Sugar
1 tea salt
1/2 tea of pepper
1 Tbs of sesame oil to taste

Basic Ranch Dressing

2 cloves garlic or 2 tbs minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 to milk or butter-milk
2 tablespoons parsley
Freshly ground black pepper

Basic Thousand Island Dressing
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup sweet pickle relish
1 pinch salt
1 pinch ground black pepper

Basic Vinegaratte

12 ounces olive oil
4 ounces balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cloves pressed garlic
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/4 onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Basic French Dressing Recipe

2/3 cup oil
1/3 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika 

Shrimp Sauce (my favorite dressing)

1 pint mayonnaise
1/2 cup water
3 tbs Sugar
1/4 Tbs Garlic
2 Tbs Ketchup
1/4 Tbs Hot Sauce
1 Tbs Mustard
1 Tbs Paprika
1/4 Tbs black pepper
1/4 Tbs White pepper
