Home-made Pizza Recipe


We make a lot of pizza in our house.  Notice this is our kids pizza with just cheese on one side. Off to the side of the pizza we made a special one for our other son who likes a completely different type of pizza. This is my tried and true recipe that includes everything to make your home-made pizza including the crust.  


First thing first let start by making our crust and preheating our oven to 480 degrees.  If you have a stand mixer the process with be much quicker.  This is a great recipe to add to your Meal Planning.

Pizza Crust

Ingredients: 

1 (.25 ounce) Package of active dry yeast (not quick yeast)
1 teaspoon of white sugar
1 cup of Warm water (110 degrees)
2 1/2 cup of Plain Flour (you can mix your plain flower with wheat flour)
2 Tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of salt
3 tbs of Parmesan cheese (to roll the dough out in, can use flour if you don't have this)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 480 degrees.  In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in the warm water.  Let stand for about 10 minutes until it is creamy.

Stir in flour, salt and oil.  Knead or use the stand mixer until everything is nice and smooth.  Let rest for about 5 minutes. 

Place dough on the surface of flour or Parmesan cheese and roll into the desired shape.  If using for pizza you can roll it to your desired thickness.  If using for cal-zones roll to about 1/4 inch thick.  

Topping your pizza.


Use about 1/2 cup of sauce or more for a sauce only pizza.
Top with Pepperoni and/or your favorite meat.
Top with your favorite cheeses and veggies.

If you are using more than 5 ingredients I recommend putting your plan pizza crust in the oven to cook for 10 minutes to light golden brown then top with your ingredients so you don't get a soggy crust or use olive oil on the base of your crust.

Baking

Once your pizza is topped place in the oven for 10-15 minutes until Golden brown and fully cooked.
