Here is a list of things I pack for my kids for lunch. Try out a new lunch for them this week.
Since my kids don't have access to a microwave or a fridge these are all good until lunch time especially if you add a cold pack.
Peanut butter and Jelly (or honey, brown sugar, banana)
Cheese and Ham Rolls or Sandwich
Soups (use a thermos to keep them warm)
Tomato and Mozzarella Salad (tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and a little Italian dressing)
Tuna Salad Sandwich
Pizza sticks with marinara sauce to dip.
Pimento Cheese sandwiches
Hard Boiled eggs
Apples and Peanut butter
Mac and cheese (use thermos)
Carrots with Humus Dip, Pita bread wedge on the side
Tacos salad (Put cheese, taco meat, salsa in a thermos together) Serve lettuce and tomatoes and tortilla chips in a container they can pour the thermos mixture together in.
Fruits and Veggies:
Go-garts (freeze them, they will thaw out before lunch)
Rice Krispy Treats
To keep lunch interesting Try:
- Changing the bread! Try tortilla shells and even bagels.
- Make it bite sized.
- Add a dip
To make a quick pack in the morning:
- Freeze sandwiches: I make PB@J sandwiches in bunches and place them in the freezer.
- Cut up fruit the night before and place in fridge
- Get a microwaveable thermos for that quick morning heat up.
