With summer here it's time for sunblock to protect our skin! Looking for a broad spectrum sunscreen that is non-toxic, contains no artificial colors or fragrances? Check out my review below.
I got the opportunity to review products from TruKid. TruKid sent me a TruKid Sunny Days SPF 30+ Sport Sunscreen and the TruKid Hero Stick to try out.
Hero stick:The first TruKid product I got an opportunity to use was the Hero stick, which happened about 2 minutes after I opened the package. My 2nd child, Andrew came in from a scrape he got from riding his scooter. So I gave the Hero Stick a try. He washed with soap and water. Then he rubbed the Hero Stick on. Just as quick as mom kissing a boo-boo, he went back outside to play. He told me he didn't even feel the boo boo later that evening- that Hero Stick had worked. The wound didn't scab up. That meant he didn't pick the scabs to make it bleed later. Hero Stick can be applied anywhere, stinky feet included or other places mom just will not kiss. 3 out of 4 of my kids have tried Hero Stick now and they all approve.
TruKid Sunny Days SPF 30+ Sport Sunscreen:
Before I try any Sunscreen on my kids I try it on me first. The last thing I want to happen is to put an ineffective sunscreen on my kids and they get fried. As I applied TruKid Sunny Days Sunscreen, I noticed a pleasant light orange scent. TruKid sunscreen had the consistency of warm honey and it went on smooth and was very easy to rub in. After I was all lathered up, we went to the pool. With multiple in and outs and dry offs it worked the same as my normal sunblock. The next pool trip, I used it on my kids and it worked well for them also. No sunburns. I would definitely recommend this product and the fact that it is non-toxic, nano-free, reef-friendly is a bonus. It also contains no artificial colors, fragrances or toxic chemicals. It's also the highest rated children's line on EWG for safety.
